Dear Friend of PDF:
As Chair of the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation (PDF), I have a personal stake in PDF’s mission to end Parkinson’s: the memory of my Dad. My fellow board members have a stake too, which is why together we will double your gift this month, for up to $100,000.
My Dad, Harry was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in his mid 60s. (He is pictured below, joining me at a PDF event via video). He was a proud man who only reluctantly accepted his diagnosis. He had just begun to fight back against PD with exercise when he died of another illness at 73.
My father’s fight and the struggle we are all a part of – whether it is your own diagnosis or that of a loved one or a friend – is personal.
And that is why the PDF Board of Directors is doubling our impact on the fight, and yours, by providing a $100,000 matching gift for all contributions made by midnight on Tuesday, December 31.
In my work as a Board Member and now, Chair, I have come to realize that the path to better treatments and a cure is paved with many unexpected twists.
Perseverance on the journey is critical.
You can help PDF to persevere by taking advantage of this opportunity to double your impact on the fight against Parkinson’s. Your gift of $50 will automatically become $100, a gift of $100 becomes $200 and a gift of $500 becomes $1,000!
Thank you for continuing to support PDF and, in turn, everyone whose lives are affected by Parkinson’s disease.
We are in this together. We have a lot at stake.
