Welcome to the 2013 - 2014 PDF Champions Page for Team Chard
MCM 10K/ October 27th/ Washington, DC
The Chard Family is running for a cure in 2013!
Gary has made a tremendous impact on us all; as a husband, father, step-father, grandfather, brother, and friend he has touched so many lives.
Now it is our turn to come together on his behalf. Our Team will support Parkinson's Disease Foundation (PDF) and its programs for education, advocacy, and research by running the Marine Corps Marathon 10K on October 27th, 2013.
This promises to be a wonderful endeavor; Gary along with many dedicated family members (including his 11 year old granddaughter) have committed to train and run the event but without YOU, we won't be able to reach our goal.
Please consider making a donation (no amount is TOO small), not only on behalf of Gary, but all those who have suffered and will continue to suffer from Parkinson's until a cure is found!
Gary (the Gramps) - “Just because I’ve been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease doesn’t mean I have to let it control my life! I’m going to run this 10K to prove to my like-afflicted peers that we are smarter and stronger than the debilitating curse of this disease. I know that not everyone can run this race, or maybe even walk a mile; but, we can all reach for the stars, open our minds to new goals, get physically active to improve our daily lives and seek help when needed. Do everything you can – and 20% more! Say ‘YES YOU CAN’ and let’s kick Parkinson’s butt!"
Sean - "I am extremely excited to once again be running to support PDF in honor of Gary. What will make it even more special is being able to run alongside family! We can put up with just a little discomfort to raise money and awareness for those who are afflicted with Parkinson's and suffer each and every day."
Aubrey - "I love you Gramps, I'm doing this for you!"
Ashley - "I am so proud to be running this 10K in support of my stepdad. His constant optimism and positive attitude are such an inspiration. Although he has been physically affected by this debilitating disease, he doesn’t let it get him down!"
Morgan - "I'm thrilled to support this worthy organization in support of my stepdad and friend, Gary. He is smart, strong, and grows the best tomatoes around. Love you Grumps!"
Barbara - "I'm happy to be running in support of my stepdad, G-dude. I'm even happier that we get to take on this physical challenge as a family. Go, Team Chard!"
Le'Rhone - "I'm honored and excited to support Gary in this race. We feel so blessed to have him as a part of the family. He's a great guy and an inspiration to us all."
Christie - "Participating in the 10K is the least I can do to help support PDF's mission and show my support for my father-in-law who is suffering from this terrible disease. Help us find a cure!"
Jamie - "I am extremely excited to be running in support of the G-Dude! He's one of the strongest people I know, never letting Parkinson's stop him from doing amazing things (like jump out of a plane)!
