Fundraising Page for Rachel Isenberg
Date of Event: 08/18/2012
Location: Philadelphia, PA
For the past four summers, I have endeavored in a personal summer challenge, starting in 2007 with a climb of Mt. Rainier. The next summer, I biked across the state of Iowa. In 2009, I completed a half marathon in Philly. And, last summer, I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro with my good friend from college.
Now, this summer in late August, my good friend and I plan to bike about 438 miles from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia.
Everyday, I am thankful for the chance to experience and push myself through the amazing experiences that this world has to offer. Each summer challenge is filled with fun, adventure, and a little bit of “what the hell am I doing?”
In 2008, I decided to include a fundraising component to the challenge, which has added much meaning to my experiences. In the past three years, I have raised over $8,000 for the Adult Congenital Heart Association and the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation. Both are wonderful and important organizations that are close to my family’s heart.
This summer, I am again raising funds for the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation. Since 1957, PDF has been “a leading national presence in Parkinson’s disease research, education and public advocacy…working for the nearly one million people in the US who live with Parkinson’s…” As many of you know, my mother struggles with the disease and my grandfather dealt with it late in his life, as well.
Please support me with my efforts. Any contribution you can make is significant and would mean a lot to me and the organization. And, as always, I do accept high-fives.
With love and gratitude,
